Survey shows 7 out of 10 Canadians rate future energy needs as important

On Monday Shell Canada released the new “Future of Energy” survey with new data on Canadian’s perception of key issues and challenges in meeting global energy needs. The survey was released at the first ever Shell Canadian Innovation Summit in Vancouver, BC.
Northeast BC has a diverse range of energy projects, especially natural gas, and the results of the Future of Energy Survey provides insight to how communities in Northeast BC can collaborate with the government and industry to develop a better and sustainable energy future.
So what energy issues really matter to Canadians?
Key findings include:
• Under 7 out of 10 Canadians rate the future of energy needs as an important issue
• One in three Canadians believe collaboration between community, industry and government is the most important factor in building future energy solutions
• Environment is seen as the most important issue related to the future of energy needs
