Fort Nelson NOT included in new incentives to recruit doctors to rural communities

“Jack Stevenson, at the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality, has brought to my attention an error made in a news release which I sent out on March 13th, entitled “New Program to Bring GP to Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge”. The release mistakenly identified Fort Nelson as one of the 17 communities involved in the rural physician incentive program.
This was a mistake on my part, as I incorrectly quoted the information provided by the Ministry of Health. The bullet point which incorrectly identified Fort Nelson as one of the communities involved should in fact have said:
The 17 selected communities are Bella Coola, Burns Lake, Chetwynd, Clearwater, Cranbrook, Galiano Island, Hazelton, Kitimat, Nakusp, Pemberton, Port Hardy, Port Alberni, Princeton, Quesnel, Terrace, Tofino, and Tumbler Ridge.
I apologise for the inconvenience that this error has caused. Thanks for your understanding.”
