Two big quakes in a day off Alaska coast

On January 5th, 2013, the Alaska Earthquake Information Centre reported a major earthquake had occurred on Friday, January 4th at 11:58 PM in southeastern Alaska.
A preliminary magnitude of 7.5 was located at a depth of about 6 miles (10 km). This event was widely experienced in southeastern Alaska and British Columbia. No reports of this event causing damage have been received at this time. The location of the earthquake was latitude 55 N 14’ longitude 134 W 53’. It occurred offshore 71 miles west southwest of Craig.
A moderate earthquake occurred on Saturday, January 5th at 3:28 AM in Southeast Alaska. The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 and was located as a depth of about 6 miles. The event was felt in southeastern Alaska and British Columbia. No reports of damage were received. It is an aftershock of the magnitude 7.5 earthquakes that occurred on January 4th.
