Fort Nelson Army Cadets now totals nearly 30 members

(L to R): Major Dan Davies, Major Dan Clarke (of 1 Combat Engineers in Edmonton) and Captain Desnoyers signing the change of command documents.

FORT NELSON – The Fort Nelson Army Cadets welcomed a new Commanding Officer in November.  After a couple years of commuting from Fort St. John to run the local Engineer Cadets, Major Dan Davies can now be assured that the local cadet unit is in good hands.  Captain Eric Desnoyers, recently from Ontario, brings along a wealth of experience with the Canadian Cadet Movement, and is looking forward to applying that here.
The local corps has already jumped from just over 10 cadets last years to almost 30 who regularly come out for training.  The parade was attended by the cadets, many parents, community members, and two soldiers from 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Edmonton.
With the increase in numbers, volunteers and staff are needed to administer the program. If you are interested in assisting as a volunteer, or as a Canadian Forces reserve member (pay and training provided), please contact Captain Desnoyers at (250) 500-1485.
