Eighteen NLC students receive entrance awards

DAWSON CREEK – Eighteen students have earned at least $1,000 towards their college education, as recipients of entrance awards administered by the Northern Lights College Foundation.
The students are all enrolled in programs that started in September at the Chetywnd, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, or Fort St. John campuses of Northern Lights College. Recipients are:
Canbriam Energy Aboriginal New Student Award (value $1,000): Janine Napoleon, Career and College Preparation, Chetwynd Campus. Encana Aboriginal New Student Award (value $1,000 each): Aimee Badine and Kristin Tetreault, Social Services Worker Diploma, and Kylie Sandford, Business Management, Fort St. John Campus; Oscar Dumais, Cook Training, Dawson Creek Campus; and Melanie Capot-Blanc, Career and College Preparation, and Kristiana Bailey, University Arts and Sciences, Fort Nelson Campus. Paul Dampier Career and College Preparation Entrance Award (value $1,000 each): Wyatt Foster and Agnes Bueckert, Fort St. John Campus. Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) Award (value $1,250 each): Brent Miller and Reid Felhauer, Welding Level C students, Dawson Creek Campus. Talisman Visual Arts Entrance Award (value $1,000): Danica Dyck, Visual Arts, Dawson Creek Campus. Talisman Aboriginal New Student Award (value $1,250): Isaiah Acko, Oil and Gas Field Operations, and Tara Good, Business Management, Fort St. John Campus; Ashley Stewart, Applied Business Technology, and Kristin Willis, Social Services Worker Diploma, Chetwynd Campus. Trevor Bolin Continuing Education Scholarship (value $1,250 each): Tyler W. Faminow, University Arts and Sciences (Sciences) and Rayna L. Gould, University Arts and Sciences (Humanities), Fort St. John Campus.
