Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards:

Winnipeg – The 7th Annual Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards were handed out at MTS Centre in Winnipeg tonight. Television and stage star Lorne Cardinal hosted the spectacular show, which was televised live on APTN.
Louie Goose and the Mackenzie Delta Band received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, and the audience of more than 4,000 enjoyed performances by Indian City, Murray Porter, Donny Parenteau, Shy-Anne, BODM (Bruthers of Different Muthers), Wesley Hardisty and Sagkeeng’s Finest.
And the winners are:

Best Country CD – Shy-Anne Interwoven Roots
Best Fiddle CD – Wesley Hardisty 12:12
Best Flute CD – Dallas Arcand Sacred Sweetgrass

Single of the Year – Shy-Anne The Glue
Aboriginal Female Entertainer of the Year – Shy-Anne
Aboriginal Male Entertainer of the Year – Don Amero.
