Toad River School launches one-to-one iPad project!

We had an exciting start to our school year.  On Thursday September 13th, Ms. Burt and Mrs. MacNeil visited and brought our new iPads. There is one for each of us! On that day, we got to explore some new programs, like the cool dinosaur mosaic, do some math and language arts games, take photos and we started to write “Lily is Loose” stories about our class hamster, Lily, getting loose in the school.  Then Lily really did get loose in the school and we had to change the ending of our stories!
Since then we have used our iPads during centre time, language arts, math and themed studies.  In themed studies we are studying the Medieval times.  We use the Google App to search for information and each of us are writing a book in “Book Creator” using the information we find.   At the end of our study, we will show our Medieval Research Books on the screen using a projector at our Medieval Feast.  Ms. Hay has plans for us to use the iPads for lots of other projects too!
We like using the iPads because they help us learn and have fun at the same time!
