Obituary – Tanice Launa Lynn (Lonnie) Kozub, 61

February 16th, 1949 – December 3rd, 2010

Lonnie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and then moved with her parents to London, Ontario. She lived there until coming to Fort Nelson abour 20 years ago at the invitation of her sister, Darylene MacPherson. Lonnie attended Northern Lights College for a time. While there she met Carson Bruce and eventually shared the same abode until his death in March of 2001. Lonnie’s muscular dystrophy continued to take its toll so she was moved into the hospital in 2006. There she met many new friends and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and opportunities opened to her with the wonderful wheelchair accessible bus. Lonnie was predeceased by her parents Stephen Kozub (Winnipeg) and Edith Mae Hetherington (Bellsite, Manitoba), her brother Wayne when he was 14, brother-in-law Don MacPherson, and her very special friend Carson Bruce. Lonnie is survived by her sister Darylene MacPherson, her nieces Denise (Triston, Rory, Saber) and Tammy (Amber & Lacey). Lonnie will be remembered for her love of animals, (cats Houdini & Kitty); her love of music and singing hymns; gentle sweet movies; professional wrestling; writing of prose and poetry; paint by numbers; a good joke or story; and was very patriotic. Her warm and welcoming hugs will be missed by many. May she rest in peace.
