It is with deep sadness and aching hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved father, John (Jack) William Talpash of Edson, AB. Jack passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 73 years of age, his family was by his side. Left to mourn Jack are his children, Darrell (Colleen) Talpash of Edson, AB and their children, DJ and Brandon; Saralee (David) Andrews of Fort Nelson, BC and their children, Brent (Desiree), Kyle (Danika) and Evan; and son in law, Tonny Christensen and his children, Michael and Tara; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Matthew and Brooke Andrews, Kaden, Kale Christensen, Brittany-Ann and Justin Kragnes. Jack also leaves behind his three sisters, Barbara (Dick) Neufeld of Fox Creek, AB; Evelyn (Doug) Anderson of Edmonton, AB; and Shirley (Dick) Pailer of Edmonton, AB. Also left behind are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of good friends. Jack was predeceased by his daughter, Leslie Christensen in 2004; his mother, Sally Talpash (nee Pearson) in 2008; his father, Michael Talpash 40 years ago; and his sister, June Talpash in 1998. Jack was born and raised in Edson, AB. Jack spent most his working years in the oil and gas industry in Fort Nelson, BC. Jack retired 10 years ago and returned home to Edson to look after his aging mother, Sally until her death in 2008. Jack loved being in the outdoors and as a younger man enjoyed hunting and fishing; in later years he enjoyed spending time with his family working around the farm and river boating. Jack was a loving, proud, supportive father and cherished times he spent with his children. His pride and joy in later years was his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved to no end. Jack and his grandsons have spent many hours travelling the roads while he taught them how to drive; some grandsons did better than others. We were so proud of Jack; he was a helpful, giving man, who treated everyone with respect. We will forever cherish our wonderful memories of Jack and the precious time we spent together. We can’t imagine how our life will be without him; we will live the way he would want us to live – living a life of happiness, love and laughter, surrounded by family and friends with no regrets. We love you and will miss you. A Memorial Service will be held and announced at a later date.
