White Spruce Creek fire evacuation alert rescinded

The Evacuation Alert issued September 29th, 2012, by the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to the areas located in the White Spruce Creek area, approximately 125 kilometres east of Fort Nelson, is rescinded.
For more information contact: Ross Coupé, Deputy Corporate Manager at (250) 774-2541 ext 2032.There was previously an evacuation order for the area due to a growing wildfire, which was reduced to an alert on October 12th, 2012.
The White Spruce Creek fire grew to 22,000 hectares over the long weekend due to dry conditions, but cool weather and a dusting of snow means it’s not predicted to make any big growth soon.
