Obituary – Tonny Christensen, 61

1951 – June 24th, 2012

On June 24th, 2012, Tonny Christensen of Edson, Alberta passed away at the age of 61 years, following a courageous battle with cancer. Tonny is survived by his loving wife Colleen of Edson, Alberta, his children, Tammy Best and her son Tyler of Milton, Ontario, Mike (Krissy) Christensen and their children Kaden and Kale of Edson, Alberta, Tara (Mike Logan) and their children Brittany-Ann and Justin of Edson, Alberta and stepchildren Jo-Anne (Jeff) Close and their daughter Amanda Webb of Edson, Alberta and Ronald (Wendy) Malboeuf and their daughter Brooklyn of Edmonton, Alberta. Also surviving is his mother Mrs. Helga Dodds of Salmon, Arm, British Columbia, siblings, Ingolf (Pauline) Christensen and family of Sudbury, Ontario, Karin (Rick) Goods and family of Strathroy, Ontario, Ronnie (Carrie) Christensen and family of Calgary, Alberta, Beverley (Norm) Visscher and family of Kelowna, British Columbia, David (Colleen) Dodds and family of Grande Prairie, Alberta and Doug Dodds of Salmon Arm, British Columbia. There are numerous other relatives and many friends left to mourn. Tonny was predeceased by his first wife Leslie in 2004 as well as his father Borge in 1958. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson on June 30th, 2012, at 11am. In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, care of the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 – University Ave., Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2 in memory of Tonny Christensen.
