Obituary – Robert “Bob” Simpson, 86

August 5th, 1925 – February 20th, 2012

Bob was born in Medicine Hat on August 5th, 1925. He joined the Army in 1943 and trained as a paratrooper. Later he moved to Toronto and worked his ice reconnaissance in the far North. While in Toronto, Bob met his future wife, Alice Syroid. They were married in Edmonton in 1959. Over the years, the family lived in Fort Smith, NWT, and Fort Nelson, BC, where Bob worked as a weather technician. He then went to work for Westcoast Transmission in Fort Nelson until retirement. Bob and Alice moved back to Edmonton in 1997 where they enjoyed their retirement. After a stroke, Bob’s final years were spent at Shepherd’s Care Centre, where he passed away on February 20th. Robert will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Alice, his children Bart (Janet) Simpson, Cindy (Doug) Brown, Karen (Graham) Watson, Stacey (Bernice) Simpson, and his grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
