Obituary – Edward Frank Houben, 64

November 28th, 1947 – January 28th, 2012

Born November 28, 1947 in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, Ed passed away at the QEll hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta, January 28th, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ed is survived by his girlfriend Evelyn and his mother Betty, brothers Bob, Allan, Kenny and his sister Shirley Ann. Ed was the proud father of daughters Christine Abercrombie, Yvonne Jacklin and son Bill Houben, as well as six grandchildren Kayla, Triston, Tia, Parker, Issabelle and Casey. The family would like to thank Dr. Barreth, RN caregiver Jesse and home caregiver Mary who gave comfort to Ed before his passing. Ed passes his regrets to his Oilfield friends that he won’t be joining them this year. In his words “ Tell ‘em to keep the shiny side up”. Ed will be remembered by a celebration of his life in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan in the Spring/Summer of 2012. For more details please contact, Yvonne @ 780-933- 9493.
